Devils deal Arnott to Capitals
The New Jersey Devils have traded veteran center Jason Arnott to the Washington Capitals for center David Steckel.
The Devils also received the Capitals’ 2012 second-round draft pick. Arnott had to waive his no-trade clause for the deal to go through.
The move is somewhat surprising from the surging Devils, who are clawing their way back toward a playoff spot.
However, the Devils felt it was prudent to move the 36-year old Arnott if it would help the team in the future.
The Devils think that Steckel will be able to replace Arnott and like that he is significantly younger.
